d-squared design project : Hydrovase
next

The hydrovase is an active hydroponic system, where a nutrient solution is supplied to the plant by pumping. The solution spills past the plant root over the day. The nutrient solution is aerated as it falls, enabling air to reach the plant roots and creating rainfall within the vase. The hydrovase comprises two glass vases made from pyrex borosilicate glass. The plant sits in the inner vase and the nutrients in the outer.

A polished wooden casing slots over the rim of the larger vase holding the pump flex and water leads.

The hydrovase is available on request from d-squared design. With hydroponic consultants: Nigel and Natalie Piper of Greenfingers Hydroponics.
