Work with video is a core part of the
practice's approach and output. Projects range from
stop frame animation pieces, commissioned for arts and
commercial contexts, to more documentary work in educational
research and for stimulating debate about urban development.
Video into architecture: We are interested
in the potential for video to be used to inform a design
approach which derives from non-formal stimuli. We use
video in the early stages of a project to study and
record aspects of a site, and when a project is complete
to record the dynamic qualities which are best captured
by moving images. d-squared has been producing films
and videos and teaching practical video making techniques
for use in architecture continuously over the last decade.
