Video installation for 31 windows of Selfridges. With 20 cctv cameras and 78 tv monitors playing 21 videos about shop life made with slowed down security footage, themed: playing-parking-eating-shopping- stepping-dressing-relaxing-sporting- surfing-cutting-sleeping-preparing- choosing-mixing-tasting-performing. The installation was made with 1km coaxial cabling, 160 lights: spots, faders, floods, roving spots and dimmable birdies, 140m plastic, silk, mirror and adhesive films.

"d-squared's installation for Selfridges presents a multi-layered and entertaining reading of the store. Flickering film and projecting light lure the viewer in, while mirror films reflect their image back. The installation brings together video, consumer products, unexpected materials and special lighting to create intriguing and multi-layered piece of temporary architecture"

Marcus Fields Blueprint April 1997
