House remodelling.
The sharply falling topography makes a house with surprising level changes. Our response is to concentrate the fun of these shifts in a single stair which orientates to a different landscape at each level. Following the light to the top, you discover a lantern from which to enjoy the gradual unfolding of the new landscape.

Landscape.
A geometric planting of 60 fruit and nut trees, blossom in a sequence. The orchard contains the formal games of tennis and parking and a painting studio. A living willow structure makes a room with shelter and shade. In the ground, hidden, is an ancient well, a hermit's source. A stream, run-off from the fields, is cleaned of nitrates by reed beds, and fills a pool. A thousand tree wood, in a species mix taken from fragments of nearby ancient woodland, shelters the buildings from the strong winds that are funneled by the valley. Hedges, planted to make sheltered play spaces, and walls make calm spaces framing a meandering landscape.
